Empathy is the supernatural ability to "experience, absorb and manipulate the strong emotions of others, which she sees as blazing, colored auras."[1]
If Alex Chen concentrates hard enough, she can see the reason that person is feeling that emotion. Emotions regularly project as auras to her. However, strong emotions can overwhelm her, making her lose control.
