Interactions are a main gameplay element in Life is Strange. Since it is a narrative adventure and heavily focuses on environmental exploration, the player can interact with various objects in explorable areas to discover and gather information on the world and its characters or in order to solve objectives. While exploring Arcadia Bay, the playable protagonist Max Caulfield may come across various objects, people, and items of interest that she may look at and usually make a comment on. Some of these interactions are necessary for progressing the story. After looking at certain items, they will be added to her journal in the form of notes which can be accessed anytime later, even in subsequent episodes.
