Background

"Piano Fire" is an indie rock song with a BPM of 129. It was performed and written by Sparklehorse frontman Mark Linkous and English singer-songwriter PJ Harvey as a collaboration, the latter of whom is sometimes uncredited.

Linkous passed away in 2010 and Sparklehorse disbanded. The song's inclusion in the soundtrack brought posthumous attention from a younger audience to Linkous' music.

As of 2023, it is Sparklehorse's most streamed song.
