Giang Chen, better known as Wendy, is the late mother of protagonist Alex Chen in Life is Strange: True Colors.

Personality

Prior to her illness, Wendy was a wise, kind, and gentle spirit, loving her entire family and was most likely the main caretaker. However, after being diagnosed with a serious illness, she was saddened, thinking heavily about how her family will survive without her.

Wendy gives her daughter, Alex, advice and a responsibility to watch over her father and brother as they'll need her once she's gone. She was clearly saddened to have to lay such a heavy burden on her youngest daughter, but couldn't help but admire Alex's braveness at such a young age.

Chapter 5: Side B

She appears in Alex's first flashback, where Alex pays a visit to her hospital room. After the flashback repeats, Wendy begins coughing, prompting Alex to get a thermos of water. Once this is done, Wendy expresses how proud she is of Alex and gives her a locket of her and Gabe before passing away.

In Alex's second flashback, the camera pans across family pictures and Wendy's shrine. Gabe and John argue, where John mentions Wendy.
