"You hurt many people, Sean... " — Yu-jin to Sean in "Episode 2: Rules"
Yu-jin park is the mother of Lyla Park. She appears in Rules, where if Sean didn't call Lyla at the Three Seals Motel, she will be in the Mental Health Clinic in Bellevue, so when Sean calls Lyla from Reynolds Household, Yu-jin will answer and Sean can pretend to be Adam or say who he really is.
Personality[]
Yu-jin appears to be very sad because her daughter is in the psychiatric hospital. If Sean pretends to be Adam, she is grateful for calling and also tells him that Lyla should forget about the Diaz family. Instead, if Sean reveals who he is, she will be sad but also angry, blaming him for Lyla's hospitalization and telling him that he has already hurt many people, also threatening to tell the police about the call.
Appearance[]
She never makes any physical appearance or is seen in a photograph. Her voice can only be heard on the phone.
Episode Two - "Rules"[]
If Sean decides not to call Lyla at Three Seals Motel, but decides to call her at Reynolds Household, Yu-jin will answer, then Sean can decide whether to pretend to be Adam or tell the truth and say he is Sean. If Sean reveals who he is, Yu-jin will get angry and reveal that she blames him for her daughter's condition and even threatens to inform the police. If Sean pretends to be Adam, Yu-jin won't get angry, but will hint that she blames the Diaz family for her daughter's predicament.
Trivia[]
- There was speculation that Lyla's mother, blaming Sean for what happened to her daughter, started working with the police to catch them, and that she will be an antagonist in future episodes. This speculation was disproved when in Episode 5, Lyla's mom did not make any appearance.
